A Welcome note from Brian Gleeson
I would like to personally extend a warm welcome to you to visit my shop here in Ballycasey. When you arrive, you will be greeted with a smile and encouraged to view our handcrafted jewellery collection in an unhurried atmosphere. You will be pleasantly surprised with the variety of handcrafted jewellery and competitive prices, through the range from Platinum, Gold to Silver. You can be confident in the knowledge that we have a fully kitted out state of the art workshop, staffed by highly skilled goldsmiths where we offer free advice and a repair and resetting service.
Our Experience
Brian qualified in 1979 as a Master Goldsmith Jeweller, after completing a four year apprenticeship at the Kilkenny Design Centre that ranged across all aspects of jewellery making. Brian launched his own business in 1981 and have been assisting many couples to choose the perfect diamond ring and wedding band ever since.
Meet the Team
Brian Gleeson
After finishing my training in Kilkenny Design Centre, I worked with Avon as a designer and prototype model maker. I opened a small workshop in Dunguire Castle before setting up here in Ballycasey in 1981.
I make all diamond rings and I love setting and forging. I’m a native of Thurles and I follow Tipperary hurling & Munster rugby. I like hill walking, golf and sailing.
Sarah Gough
Sarah is a qualified Goldsmith who has been with us for over 10 years. She looks after all wedding bands and helps me to manage the workshop. Sarah loves designing and making one off pieces for the Shop.
She volunteers her jewellery making skills with community based Focus Program, National Learning Network Limerick. She also loves ”Making my friends jealous when I tell them I love my job”. A native of Limerick, she has interests in arts and is a friend of the Hunt museum.
Maria Toomey
Maria is a qualified goldsmith who has been designing and making jewellery since 2001. She has redesigned most of the Burren collection of jewellery in gold and silver which has been our best selling range.
Her interests include running and she has completed many half marathons and recently completed a full marathon for charity, she also loves cooking.
Joan Clohessy
Joan, a qualified Goldsmith, has been designing and making jewellery since 2003, loves working in Platinum and pave setting diamonds. She also looks after all the corporate orders from monthly medals for golf clubs, to sterling silver book marks for Intel.
Her passions include equestrian sports, photography and keeping fit, and she has run many half marathons. She’s also qualified in CPR, AED and in coaching football, loves travel and has an interest in languages.
Brid Walsh
Our Shop Manageress, Brid has worked with Gleeson Goldsmiths for over ten years and is responsible for how we look out front. She has helped many couples choose the ring of their dreams over the years. A native of Cork, Brid is interested in theatre and travel and is a past Lady Captain of Shannon Golf Club.
Mary Lillis
Mary is with Gleeson Goldsmiths for over 8 years, she is the assistant manager and also looks after all the valuations and office administration. Mary is a native of Limerick living in Shannon is a huge Munster fan and is president of St. Sennans Rugby Club.
